Q. I am an organisation/school that looks after Children with Special Needs, how do I apply?

A. Most likely, your school or organisation has received information regarding the nomination of children to attend. Please contact us on 3245 1588 to discuss whether you are on our database as yet. The online registration for schools and organisations is located here.

Q. Where is the party being held?

A. This year's party will be held again in Halls 2 and 3 of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre at Southbank. Click here to view a map.

Q. What time and date is the party?

A. The party will be held on Sunday 12th December 2010. We open for the doors for the children around 10:30am and the event will finish up around 2pm

Q. How do I get there? Is there wheelchair access at the Centre? How much is parking?

A. The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre has a lot of information about these questions and more. Please click here to visit their site.

Q. The Invitation and Wristband I have received says its for 1 child only. I have other children, what shall I do?

A. As we are inviting over 3,000 Special Needs Children, it can be sometimes hard to cater for the 'unknown' amount of siblings. We encourage you, as much as possible, to have the other children stay at home. A few reasons for this other than catering requirements, is that only the child invited, who is wearing the wristband will receive presents. It can sometimes be hard to explain to other children that they cannot receive any presents as they weren't invited.

If your circumstances mean that you cannot have your other children looked after and they must attend, they will be issued with a Brown Sibling Wristband. This will let them gain entry to party, but they are not entitled to receive toys.

Q. I have received different coloured Wristbands, what are the colours for?

A. Colours for the Wristbands are for us to identify how old a child is so we may give them age appropriate presents. The breakdown of colours are as follows:

Red

Children who are confined to a wheelchair or walking frame

Pink

Children aged from 1 to 2 years

Green

Children aged from 3 to 4 years

Yellow

Children aged from 5 to 6 years

Blue

Children aged from 7 to 9 years

White

Children aged from 10 to 12 years

Q. I have a child with ASD and it's very noisy inside. Also what can I do about the long lines?

A. It can be very distressing for this to happen when it can get very noisy inside the venue. You do have the option to go into the foyer of the Convention Centre if it does get too much. Another suggestion is for the child to wear ear plugs/headphones. With regards to the long lines, as you can imagine, with that amount of children in attendance, it can take some time to line up for the toys. Our suggestion is to walk around and enjoy the festivities; put your feet up and watch the stage show; the lines will go down and we always make sure that no invited child misses out on presents.

Q. I have lost my wristband!!

A. Please contact the organisation or school where you received the invite and wristband from. They can then get in touch with us.

Q. My child cannot attend, can I turn up to collect their presents?

A. Unfortunately not. If you do know that your child will be unable to attend, please send the invite and wristband to the school/organisation that you received it from. There are many hundreds of other children that will want to enjoy the day.
